Mandate
In a wine market locked down by complexity and government rules, La QV set out to change the game. Its aim? Make organic, biodynamic and natural wines from small producers truly accessible in Quebec.
Our mission was to bend the rules and build an e-commerce platform as simple and lively as the wines themselves, so anyone could shop with confidence and ease.
Bold brand, approachable experience
La QV’s reimagined platform brings the brand’s unconventional, playful energy to every corner of the user journey, making the sometimes complex wine world feel welcoming and easy to explore. The eccentric identity is anchored by vibrant visuals, hand-drawn team portraits, visual cues and a zany tonality.



Using colour and iconography to foster accessibility
Wine is in a rarefied world with codes and intimidating terminology that describe the products and their characteristics. To make it more accessible and empower newcomers, we used a mix of colours and iconography to differentiate varietals and key characteristics throughout the site.


We also created simple product pages with just enough information to appeal to connoisseurs while not overwhelming less knowledgeable consumers with hard to grasp content.


Producers at the heart of discovery
La QV stands apart by putting more than 150 independent winemakers, not brands, front and centre. Each producer was given a dedicated story page, offering buyers a direct line to the people behind every bottle. For the first time, shoppers can navigate by winemaker as easily as by style, building authentic connections previously missing from D2C wine in Quebec. This choice to humanize the cellar transforms the experience, reshaping purchase intent from transactional to truly personal.

A custom checkout to simplify complexity
Navigating Quebec’s private import regulations can be daunting: multiple fees, pickup rules, complex flows. La QV turns this into a frictionless, transparent path by using a customized checkout on Shopify that automatically calculates every charge, clarifies the logistics and keeps users in a familiar e-commerce environment. What’s intricately managed behind the scenes is invisible to customers, making the purchasing journey seamless.

A tool to bridge discoverability and availability
La QV is breaking new ground with its Wine Finder, an innovative tool designed to close the gap between wine lovers’ curiosity and real-time local availability. In a market where access to specific bottles is often uncertain, the Wine Finder reimagines the search process: users can answer a few questions about their tastes and mood and instantly get personalized recommendations that are available near them, turning curiosity into conversion and removing guesswork from the experience.
